BIOGRAPHY

Meghan Wilhelm is an artist and illustrator born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In the spring of 2020, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI in Drawing and Illustration, along with minors in Art History and Anthropology. In the year following her college graduation, she has had a number of her works exhibited in a few national gallery shows, as well as participated in regional and local art-making events. Currently she is employed as a gardener at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, but has also previously served a curatorial internship for Fort Wayne Museum of Art. While Meghan has always been an artist at heart, she also possesses a keen interest in the sciences and the natural world, which is where the main source of her inspiration comes from - often times the subjects seen in her work include flora, fauna, and the wild landscapes they inhabit. As well, she is an avid consumer of various stories, finding solace in different media like movies, graphic novels, or video games - from all of which stems her interest in the fantastical or otherworldly. Most of her art tends to interweave these two ideas together - the natural and the otherworldly, the familiar and the fantastical, the mundane and the dreamlike.
