My wood sculptures are all handmade and woods are individually chosen for their naturalistic visual qualities and aesthetic appearances. Optical illusions of man-made materials are created via carving and painting manipulations that present the carved wood to appear as synthetics and/or metallic materials. BIOGRAPHY

Dannon Schroeder has studied and taught fine art both locally, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and nationally in cities such as Phoenix, Arizona and Denver, Colorado. He is the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards from three separate universities including the Rudy Turk Award for History in American Craft. His sculptures have traveled nationally in both group and solo exhibitions focused on environmental topics and the human connection to the natural world. His sculptures are sculpted almost entirely from wood varieties and then painted to mimic metallic and synthetic surfaces. He currently lives and works in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
